This Privacy Policy explains how DeskPerch ("we", "us") handles information when you visit this website.
Information we collect
We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to read our content. We may collect aggregated analytics data (such as pages visited and general location) to understand how the site is used and improve it.

Google Analytics 4 is our analytics tool. Where the law requires it, or may require it (the EU and EEA including their outermost regions, the UK, Switzerland, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man), and wherever we cannot tell your country, you are asked first through a cookie banner, and Google Analytics loads only after you choose "Accept analytics". Elsewhere it loads by default. In all regions, Google Signals and ad personalisation are turned off. Your country is read from the page request by our hosting provider and is not stored by us. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. Your choice is saved in a first-party cookie named deskperch_consent that lasts 12 months.
Counting clicks on shop links. When you click a link to a shop (for example Amazon), a small script on this page sends our server a short note: this page's address, the shop's domain, which link on the page you used, and the day. It sets no cookies and does not identify you. Our server, run for us by Cloudflare, receives your IP address with that note, as any web request does; we do not store it, and we do not store your browser details. We keep only daily totals. We use this only to see which pages and links readers use, so we can improve them. Where the law requires it, or may require it (the EU and EEA including their outermost regions, the UK, Switzerland, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man), or where we cannot tell where you are, you are counted only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. Everywhere else you are counted unless you opt out. If you press Decline in the cookie banner, you are not counted anywhere. We also respect the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. If you opt out below, we save one small marker in your browser (local storage, key afmw_click_optout) so we remember your choice; it is not sent to us.
